Services building

The DAMAR Services building in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a K-12 school for children and adults with learning disabilities. The design team wanted to provide a calm and serene learning environment for the students and staff, so achieving a great acoustical environment in the gymnasium and the atrium became a high priority.

ABD Engineering & Design was brought in by Architura Architects to provide acoustical review of the project design, including acoustical treatments for the new gymnasium to be used for athletics, simple theatrical presentations and musical performances, and for large gatherings of the student body and their parents. ABD also provided review and recommendations to enhance the acoustical aspects of the design for the new administration building. Our professional engineers worked hard to ensure the acoustics were pristine allowing for clear communications and a relaxed learning environment.
