Erickson Hall

This project included a 5,600 SF addition and extensive remodeling of approximately 1,150 SF to house project research space and offices for the College of Education. The project also included renovations to a large lecture room with significant acoustical issues. Acoustics By Design was retained to complete detailed acoustical measurements in the Lecture Hall, construction of a three dimensional acoustical model, and recommendations for acoustical treatment. In particular, architectural changes required that acoustically absorptive windows curtains were to be replaced with acoustically reflective window shades. Additional remodeling work included integration of the building addition into the existing structure, site work, and an upgrade to the main Erickson Hall entry plaza and canopy. The design provides for the possibility of adding an additional four floors, above the one-story addition, in the future. The existing building operations were maintained during construction. Total construction cost of $2,139,300.
