ABD Engineering & Design worked with SERA Design and Architecture on the Portal phase of the Eugene River District Plan. ABD began with a noise study to make recommendations for the facade, window glazing performance, and roof deck. The data collected on site resulted in improvements to address potential intrusion from the nearby rail line, bridge, and road noise sources.
ABD’s acoustical consulting for the interiors included wall types and floor/ceiling assemblies to meet the noise isolation needs between the residential spaces and other adjacent common areas. Mechanical noise control throughout helps to reduce noise inside each living space and room acoustics helped with the common areas and amenities.
SERA’s master plan for “where the city meets the river” has 420-1213 residential units plus 11-22k SF retail, and 4.4 acres public open space on a 20-acre site.
