ABD Engineering & Design worked with Perkins + Will on the twelve-story Corewell Health outpatient ambulatory Care Center on Michigan NE in Grand Rapids, MI.
ABD’s acoustical consulting services included an exterior noise study and recommendations for the facade to achieve appropriate interior noise levels. Noise from the generator was also addressed, not only for the new building but also for the nearby existing structures all along the medical mile in downtown Grand Rapids.
For the interior spaces, ABD provided detailed analysis and recommendations to meet the FGI Guidelines for the design and construction of healthcare projects for Room Acoustics, Noise Isolation, and Mechanical Noise Control. A variety of spaces were addressed including the exam, procedure, and consultation rooms as well as the more specialty spaces such as the medical simulation (MEDSIM) rooms, telehealth, and fitness area for occupational health and physical therapy.
