ABD Engineering & Design worked with PIVOT Architecture on this DJC Top Project YMCA.
The new facility includes pools, a gym with a mezzanine track, exercise rooms, classrooms, a daycare/preschool, and offices for the staff. ABD’s acoustical consulting services included room acoustics to create comfortable spaces by addressing echo and reverberation, noise isolation to separate one space from another, and mechanical noise control to reduce background noise levels.
The Y calls the project a terrific success as membership tripled in the first 16 months after opening, becoming one of the fastest-growing YMCAs in the nation, according to its 2024 impact report.
