U.S. Bankruptcy Court

Western District of Michigan

Acoustics By Design was retained to offer recommendations for interior room acoustics, noise isolation, and building systems noise control for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Grand Rapids, Michigan. GSA guidelines require that stringent acoustical criteria be met in every courtroom, jury room, and confidential conference room. Our professional engineers modeled every space, carefully reviewed each wall and door type, and analyzed every piece of HVAC equipment. Specifications were given for construction features that would effectively isolate adjacent rooms and eliminate crosstalk. Our final report helped to increase the acoustical performance, noise isolation, and sustainability of the courtroom.
